Nearly 30 minutes from Budapest are the world, the secrets, thousand years old cultures and wonderful meetings are waiting for you at Summerfest Folkdance Fstival!
For the joy and pride of the organiser towns this year Százhalombatta,
Ráckeve and Tököl will be festival places of the III. WORLD FOLKLORIADA.
This program is held by CIOFF (International Council of Organizations
of Folklore Festivals and Folk Art) every four years. In 1996 Netherlands,
in 2000 Japan and in 2004 Hungary won the right of the organisation. In
the coordination of the Hungarian Council of Organizations of Folklore
Festivals (CIOFF Hungary) and the House of Traditions we organise the
most important folkore program of the world along with 12 hungarian towns.
Nearly 80 countries send their best folkdance groups and folk music bands.
Százhalombatta Ráckeve and Tököl will be the centre of folklore for 10
days, like Athens and other Greek towns for the sportsmen.
The main programs of the festival: opening and closing ceremony (Százhalombatta),
dance panorama (every three town), folkore galas at 20th August
(Ráckeve and Tököl).
Other programs: classical music concerts, fine art exhibitions, children
games, music concerts at the World Music Tent, international dance houses...
