CIOFF

The Hungarian Organization of CIOFF was formed in 1970. Its main task is to work out the new system, of regulating the international relations of domestic ensembles and festivals and the system of improving the activity. The office, after the establishment of Summerfest International Folkdance Festival followed it continuously with attention. Due to this our organization won the qualification of CIOFF festival in 1998, and it has still been holding this title.

CIOFF has 75 members, it organises more than 250 festivals all over the world. It regulates the connections beetween folkdance groups and helps the exchange of them for the international festivals and events.

World Folkloriada

The biggest event of CIOFF where all of the members participate. It takes place every four years. In 2000 Forrás Folkdance Group represented Hungary in Japan. But in 2004, Forrás will organise the World Folkloriada what will be held in Hungary.
